Greenville police have charged 6 teens in falls park robbery of cyclist!

Greenville Ghost NEWS Network is proud to announce that yet another band of wannabe thugs with a BB gun have been charged with the crime they committed.

Back in August, a cyclist riding through falls park was robbed by a group of 6 teenagers, one of which had a BB gun. The victim Gideon Hackett was in the park after 10pm and was reportedly punched in the eye and knocked down, the other thugs began kicking him

Thanks to CrimeStoppers, an anonymous tip gave the names of several involved in the robbery.

Police identified the suspects being charged as adults as Jaylan Fair, Frederick Irby, Dontavious Jenkins, Rodney Jones and Deandre Norris. They range in ages from 15-19 and they will all be charged as adults except for the 15 year old. The one with the BB gun will also be charged with possession of a weapon during a violent crime.

As an opinionated business owner downtown Greenville, I am happy to see progress being made in curbing more of this crap.

Greenville has plans to upgrade security cameras downtown! SC

Greenville Ghost NEWS Network… bringing you the news the mainstream is afraid to…

It today’s update I am happy to report some upcoming positive improvements in Downtown Greenville security. Just three days ago the announcement was made that Greenville of City will be upgrading it’s aging camera security system by adding newer cameras with high resolution cams and increasing the lighting in some of the key crime areas.

This is a good start to helping citizens be a little safer downtown. Having the higher resolution cams means that it will be easier to identify wrong doers with more detail. Also having better lighting in some of these areas gives better results with older and newer cameras.

I commend the city for this step forward in making downtown safer for our tour guests as well all visitors downtown Greenville. One thing that may help be more of deterrent is SIGNAGE that lets the visitors and criminals both know that they are being recorded. The knowledge of the cameras being there is a huge preventative to the crimes and violence. Just having cameras up doesn’t really prevent crime, but having strobes on the cams and simple signs that make everyone aware of them goes a long way in making the cameras more effective as a deterrent.

Downtown Greenville: 10 wannabe teenage thugs threaten a couple in parking garage with toy gun

Breaking news from Greenville Ghost NEWS Network… Bringing you the news the mainstream is afraid to!

On Saturday evening 9/14/2013 around 10:30pm, a couple was in a downtown Greenville, SC parking garage when they were approached by a group of 10 African American teenage wannabe thugs who were trying to be intimidating. One of the wannabe thugs pulled a toy gun on the couple and the couple carefully got into their car. Upon driving off, the teen shot at the rear window leaving damage. It was a BB gun that had pulled on this couple.

As reported by WORD 1330 and 950 news talk radio.

As a downtown Greenville business owner and a father,  I am disgusted that more local media outlets are not covering this type of increasing violent activity. Count on me to bring you the unpopular news in an opinionated manner as the Greenville Ghost Tour attempts to get attention about these matters for YOUR safety.

I invite Mayor Knox White and the Greenville City Police department to consider the fact that this kind of crap will CEASE to happen with a city wide open carry ordinance. Until then Greenville Ghost NEWS Network will bring you the hauntings AND the teenage violence problem Downtown Greenville. It is MY business after all to share the dark side of Greenville, SC. It is the business of Mayor Knox White, Greenville City Counsel and The Greenville City Police Department to make the town safe for all of us to enjoy.

UPDATE!!! According to Fox Carolina there has been a turn of events in this case! Greenville Police have made 7 arrests in the case. Thankfully investigators have made headway in this event and the “thugs” in question range in age from 12-15.

I want to applaud the Gville PD for being able to gain ground in what many of us Central Business District biz owners see as a growing problem for the safety of our guests and customers. Attempted robbery and malicious damage are the charges and hopefully this will send a message to the other wannabe “thugs” that think they can get away with crap like this…
